Press Release

Galerie ISA is delighted to participate in the 2025 edition of the Abu Dhabi Art. On display are exemplary works by global talents including Diana Al-Hadid, David Brian Smith, Vipeksha Gupta, Santiago Giralda, Idris Khan, Ian Malhotra, Eeman Masood, KP Prasad and Ricky Vasan. These artists cross pollinate ideas and traditions of memory and migration; nature and technology and interior and exterior worlds in unique styles.

Using a medley of materials ranging from plaster to pigment, Diana Al-Hadid’s molten structures serve as a metaphorical reminder of memory, migration and culture in an increasingly homogenized and insular world. Memory, repetition, music, text and a diversity of references are the hallmarks of Idris Khan’s culturally and rhythmically resonant works. For Ricky Vasan, the immigrant experience, the nostalgia and intimacy of both the everyday and days past, are integral to his figurative paintings.

Pastoral beauty through a mythical and spiritual lens defines David Brian Smith’s landscapes; the artist employs layering, pattern and repetition to create a sense of tradition and rituals. Santiago Giralda’s works are deeply immersive; his reinterpretations of traditional landscapes encourage viewers to lose themselves in these futuristic, dizzying paintings. Ian Malhotra’s labour intensive drawings mimic technology through the use of code to present landscapes and probe how the digital lens impacts our visual experiences. Eeman Masood oeuvre is a bridge between the classic and the contemporary by using the traditions of miniature paintings to create lush, vivid landscapes. Rooted in his home state of Kerala, KP Prasad’s paintings explore the impact of technology and advancement on rural landscapes.

Meditations on consciousness, an interplay of darkness and light, and a contemplation of impermanence are hallmarks of Vipeksha Gupta’s luminous, highly stratified and layered abstractions.

These works reflect Galerie ISA’s mission to provide a platform to thought-provoking, culturally and stylistically diverse talent.
